My Name is Haley, and it is so nice to meet you.

North Las Vegas represents everything I love about this state — all people, all workers, and Battle Born pride.

LEARN MORE ABOUT HALEY JOHNSON.

Haley Johnson is a space-holder, story weaver, and community steward who believes politics can be a place of healing, justice, and authentic connection that leads to intentional action. Her story is rooted in Nevada and grounded in North Las Vegas — shaped by a journey across classrooms, communities, continents, and courageous choices. A lifelong Nevadan and proud daughter of two United States Marine veterans, Haley grew up in a home built on service, integrity, and sacrifice – learning that leadership isn’t about titles or power — it’s about showing up for people, every single day.

North Las Vegas is where Haley’s statewide experience meets community purpose. It’s where she sees the same hard work, determination, and care that built her own family — and where she’s dedicated to investing her time, energy, and love to help strengthen local connection and opportunity.

Haley has been shaped by many colorful stories — ones that clarified her purpose, politicized her heart, and built her voice.

ROOTED IN NEVADA.

Haley grew up in small towns across Nevada — from Tonopah to Elko, Spring Creek, Carson City, Dayton, and Reno, and now North Las Vegas — learning in rural public schools before graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations.

From a young age, she had a heart for leadership — participating in youth programs, volunteering at church, serving on student government bodies, and learning from Nevada’s shared history of resilience and care.

Haley’s career has always centered on people. She worked in the Nevada State Legislature — first as an intern, then as a Senate Committee Secretary, and eventually as the youngest woman to serve on the Front Desk of the Nevada Senate. She taught bilingual fifth graders in Honduras. She drove an 18-wheeler across 48 states. She lived off-grid in a DIY container home in Hawaii during COVID. She moved to Thailand to study yoga, healing, and presence. She returned to the U.S. to become Director of Operations and Events for a national voting rights foundation.

During her time working to advance voting rights, she had the privilege to sit with elders in Jackson, Mississippi — living legends of the Civil Rights movement — and walked through the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama, where she met Bryan Stevenson and witnessed history not as memory, but as an ongoing movement.

Her Nevada roots run deep, giving her a statewide perspective — but her focus is here, on the neighborhoods and families of North Las Vegas who deserve leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers with intentional action.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP.

Haley is deeply engaged in civic and community work across Nevada — and especially here in North Las Vegas. Within the Democratic Party, she serves as a member of the Clark County Democratic Party Central Committee and chairs the Fundraising Committee for the CCDP as well, helping to strengthen local engagement and support Democratic candidates statewide.

She is an active member of the Nevada Women's Democratic Club, Democratic Women’s Caucus, as well as the North Las Vegas and Centennial Hills Democratic Clubs — staying connected to the people and issues shaping our communities every day. Beyond partisan spaces, Haley is committed to advancing equity and justice through her involvement with the NAACP Las Vegas Chapter as a Committee Chair and as a member of the Sierra Club.

As an auntie to 12, a multilingual neighbor, and a practitioner of collective healing, Haley carries her story — and the stories of her community — into every decision she makes.
